On my Holiday in Mombasa I Slept on a Huge Bed

By Penny Bennett

Mombasa is amongst the major towns that happen to be found at the Kenyan coastline. Compared with other areas with the nation, this city is predominantly inhabited with the Swahili race hence, when on holiday here you most likely will witness a lot of the Swahili culture this is seen on the streets and in the shops and the long dresses the women wear. The people of Mombasa are certainly loud and pleasant, as they look after both of the domestic and global tourists that come all year long. This town is the home to several vital attractions, to not mention the special weather conditions that is certainly a contributing issue,to help keep the number of customers coming.

Every so often, I make a point to go on vacation and visit some of the main towns and cities in Kenya with the numerous vacation centers of Kenya. Therefore, this calendar year I set out to experience the Kenyan Coastline. I initially booked into a guest house based in the famous Mount Candy Resort, which is also 5 star rated. While I initially decided to fly , I opted to travel by road overnight, just to get a concept of what this mode of travel is like. So, I booked a ticket with what I considered one of the local coaches that travels the route each and every day. The hostesses with the travel office ended up extremely polite, and assisted me to get my ticket in under ten minutes. It took us about eight hours to make it to Mombasa from Nairobi I enjoyed the journey even though the road was very bumpy; I appreciated just about every little bit of the journey. In reality for some time I dozed off.

Upon arrival, I picked a taxi that took me to the White Sands hotel, that is just about half an hour from the city centre, overlooking the azure of the ocean. The hotel staff at the reception helped me check into my room with ease. When I entered my room, I was amazed at the size of the bed. As a matter of fact, the hotel had the biggest pine bed I have ever seen. I could not wait to enjoy its warm and cozy feel.

The bedroom also had a large custom made wardrobe, that was opened with bright steel handles, a slender bedside chest, a bedside clock, a leather mirror, concealed lighting and many African artifacts like pictures of wild animals and tapestries showing the tribal customs of the area. There was also a pine chest of drawers and stool at the dressing table. Considering the fact that Mombasa is really a very warm city, there was also some furnishings outside on the balcony that would be nice to sit on, where you can take pleasure in the evening breeze as you look at the sunset.

I was given a tour around what will be my home, for the next few days, I proceeded to enjoy a shower so as to unwind my entire body. I expended the subsequent hour in the jacuzzi soon after which I proceeded towards the restaurant to get breakfast. Considering the things I wanted to do on my itinerary which I would start later on in the day, I went back again to my own room, I could not resist it I spread myself on the massive bed as I read through a little about Mombasa and it individuals. I dozed off for a short time as I had not really slept enough and I woke up later for lunch, that was followed by an afternoon wander. My holiday here was wonderful and by the time I had to return home, I wished I might have stayed for another week.
